Travel Precautions

Domestic Purchases and Travel

Fraudulent activity has been reported in the following states which may impact debit card and credit card transactions:

  • Connecticut
  • Florida
  • New York
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Maryland
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Virginia

What to Do

Notify WPCCU at 800-300-9728 prior to making any online purchases in or traveling to these states. We will make the necessary adjustments to your card profile.

Foreign Purchases and Travel

When traveling in another country, your Water and Power Community Credit Union MasterCard® may be used at ATM locations wherever you see the MasterCard, Maestro or Cirrus logos displayed.

Blocked Transactions

Take additional precautions when traveling in countries that are more prone to fraud.

In addition to debit card and credit card signature-based transactions, we are required by the U.S. government to block debit card PIN-based transactions in the following countries:

  • Iran
  • Myanmar (Burma)
  • Sudan

As a result of prior fraudulent transactions, WPCCU also blocks debit card and credit card signature-based transactions in the following countries:

  • China
  • Cuba
  • Estonia
  • Hungary
  • Iran
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Lithuania
  • Myanmar (Burma)
  • North Korea
  • Poland
  • Romania
  • Russia
  • South Africa
  • South Korea
  • Spain
  • Sudan
  • Thailand
  • Turkey
  • Ukraine
  • The United Kingdom

What to Do

Notify WPCCU at 800-300-9728 prior to traveling in these countries. We can remove the block for you so you can use your credit card or debit card at your destination.

Having trouble logging In?

If this is your first time logging in please follow these instructions:

  1. Enter your Online Banking ID.
  2. Enter your Password. You must use the last four numbers of your Social Security Number as your temporary password the first time you log in.
  3. Then follow the on-screen instructions to set up your new password, security image and security settings.
